Instructions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 325°F. Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan.
- 2
Sprinkle the chopped walnuts evenly over the bottom of the prepared pan.
- 3
In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, water, vegetable oil, and dark rum. Mix until smooth.
- 4
Pour the batter over the walnuts in the prepared pan.
- 5
Bake for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- 6
Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a serving platter.
- 7
Make the glaze: In a small saucepan, combine the butter, water, and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Continue boiling for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and carefully stir in the dark rum.
- 8
After cooling for 10 minutes while the cake is still warm, brush the glaze generously over the top and sides, allowing it to soak in before adding more. Continue until all of the glaze has been absorbed.
