Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 4 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt

  • 2 cups buttermilk

  • ½ cup (1 stick) butter, melted

Directions:

  • Preheat the oven to 450°F.

  • Add flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt to a mixing bowl. Use a whisk dry ingredients.

  • Pour in the buttermilk and stir until mostly combined, do not to overwork the dough.

  • Pour the melted butter into an 8×8-inch baking pan. Place the dough on top of the butter and use a spatula to evenly spread the dough into the pan.

  • Cut the unbaked dough into 9 squares.

  • Bake for 28 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.

  • Cool and enjoy!
